Northwest Financial Advisors Captures LPL Financial’s Institution Services Investment Program of the Year Award

Credit union investment program awarded at LPL’s annual Program Leadership Conference

Herndon, Va. — Northwest Financial Advisors (NWFA) claimed the #1 spot for financial institution-based investment programs at LPL Financial’s annual Program Leadership Conference for top bank and credit union executives. Karen Benedict, Northwest Financial Advisors’ Sr. VP and program manager, was in attendance and accepted the award.

Northwest Financial Advisors is a subsidiary of NW Capital Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Northwest Federal Credit Union, a $3.5 billion credit union serving more than 260,000 members. The firm was chosen as the Institution Services Investment Program of the Year out of more than 800 financial institutions within the LPL Financial platform. The award criteria consisted of quantitative and qualitative factors. The qualitative factors focused on the extent to which NWFA has optimized its program in the last five years, including hiring an investment manager and establishing model portfolios; and developing second story (nonbranch) advisors, advisor succession plans and an associate advisor development program.

Mertz, aka Coach Mertz, entered into the 2024 class of the VA Hall of Fame for his exceptional role as head coach/manager in the Virginia Glory fastpitch organization for the past 13 years.
